STORY BEHIND THE SHOT - 'FOXTON FIZZ II'
Welcome back!!!

Anyway, on with the story.
'FOXTON FIZZ II' UNCROPPED
Blessed with an amazing run of weather, it was panning out to be another beautiful day at Foxton Beach so I started it right with a morning surf in some fun, yet, small waves out front. After a good hour (or two) I decided to shoot home to grab the family as the tide was high and there was zero wind. Furthermore, a good friend and his daughter looked like they were having fun on the beach so I thought I'd get my kids (and wife) outta the house for a couple hours to join in.
Fast forward 4 hours and the beach was packed with what seemed like the entire town of Foxton and Foxton Beach so I decided to call it a day so I could get home to put the drone up.
By the time I was airborne the wind had picked up, but, I wasn't going to let that stop me so I boosted straight over top of the crowd between the flags. Once there I knew I'd be flying back with some bankable shots and despite the constant wind warnings I continued the search for desirable compositions and interesting moments. With about 5 minutes left on the battery I was in the right place at the right time when this set of waves came through. The amount of people in the frame mixed with the brightly coloured boogie boards and turquoise water had the makings of a really cool shot - with all the prep work done, there was only one thing left to do.
I ended up with half a dozen cool shots from this day, but, this is probably my favourite of the bunch. The others are below, let me know which image you like best in the comments section and that'll count as your entry.
